Kame’s voice is not the best in terms of the technicalities of singing; it’s a given fact. His high notes are nasally, his vibrato is inconsistent, but like much of JE idols the prettiness of his vocals does not lie on the nitty gritty of his technique, but on the injection of personality in the way he sings. If you listen to his lines, there’s this raw, almost growling sound to his tone, and it’s elating, seriously. He’s like a tumultuous rock show while the rest of the singing world is a pitch-perfect musical. Personally I’d rather hear imperfect yet unique over perfect but boring.

I love Kame so much, and his and Koki’s voices are tied for first place to me. But I’ve always wished the other guys - Nakamaru or Junno, for example, would have more of the main lines and Kame less. For some reason I like it when my favorites have supporting lines instead. Also, it’s simply boring to have Kame be the main vocal in every song.
